Micro-Trak BFT
VHS Products has created the Micro-Trak BFT, a 2-meter FM transmitter combined with a
TinyTrak 3 controller chip, and an adjustable 35W power amplifier that provides an easy and inexpensive way to build a small APRS tracker.
Just plug in a GPS receiver, such as the Byonics GPS2, and track!
- 35 Watt high powered APRS transmitter (adjustable)
- Single channel, crystal controlled 144.390 only
- Runs on automotive power supply
- Supports all the latest Byonics TinyTrak3 features.
- Designed to offer the most bang for the buck, and is ideal for areas with sparse digipeater coverage
- No need to tie up an expensive radio for APRS tracking
- No complicated radio cabling
- Simple 2 wire GPS connection
Micro-Trak BFT is available on the North American APRS frequency of 144.39 MHz, transmits up to 35 watts, and is sold as a built and tested unit.
The Micro-Trak BFT PCB measures 2.4 inch X 4.7 inches.
Please Note:Micro-Trak BFT is designed to allow users to operate APRS in areas with poor digipeater coverage,
where more power than normal is needed.
It should not be used in areas with many digipeaters, or areas where only a couple of watts is needed to get into the network.
